This tends to be the time of year where most business owners in the wedding industry map out what educational opportunities they want to invest in for the remainder of 2017. Kinsey Roberts of She Creates Business — A Podcast for Wedding Pros invited me to share my thoughts on conferences, workshops, and retreats within the wedding industry. We had a really fun (and honest!) conversation about what to look for in a conference, how to find out if an event is legit, and what to do if a conference you attend didn’t live up to what was promised.
This is a podcast every business owner within the wedding industry should listen to! You can listen here or in iTunes. Happy listening!
Good morning, friends!
I’m excited to share with you that I am participating in a series of 3 podcasts with She Creates Business — a podcast for wedding professionals! I was so honored to be interviewed by Kinsey Roberts who is dedicated to sharing the voices of women in business with other women. Her podcast is a must subscribe— it’s filled with delightful, heartfelt and informative information from business owners from all professions. My first podcast is about Mentoring in the Wedding Industry and I would love for you to listen! I share information on action steps to create a sound business, why you should hire a business mentor, pricing, sales and more. Stay tuned for my next podcast, coming up soon.

As a business owner, investing in education and unique experiences within the industry is necesary. Robert Kiyosaki once wrote:
“The most successful people in life are the ones who ask questions. They’re always learning, they’re always growing, they’re always pushing.”
You need to seek out and research different conferences, summits, retreats, workshops and unique networking events to not only inspire you but shift your way of thinking. Engage Summits is a conference hosted three times a year for luxury wedding professionals and it is filled with unique, interesting, exciting people just like you.
I started going to Engage! in 2011 and attended several more engages over the years. I was reflecting recently on all the gifts that Rebecca and Kathryn from engage have given me, and I wanted to share them with you in the hopes of showing you how a conference in this industry can change your life.
Guys! I was so excited to flip open my mailbox today and see this pretty package waiting for me from The Coterie Retreat. You can catch me there next month speaking on a panel of fellow experts, where we’ll discuss styled shoots and how to get your work published (… and how to publish a book!). As you know, I co-authored an inspirational coffee table book, The White Dress in Color — Inspirations for the Modern Bride, and I’m elated to share with you the process of publishing a book. Looking forward to welcoming you to beautiful Barbados! To learn more about The Coterie Retreat and how you can sign up to attend future events, visit their website.
And now I have a question for you… what is the biggest challenge you face when styling AND/OR submitting your work for publication? Looking forward to hearing from you!
