About Mae Mallon, Owner of Beyond Smitten Events
Mae Mallon is the owner of Beyond Smitten Events, a wedding planning company based in Northern California. Mae and her team bask in the opportunity to walk alongside their couples as they journey to the altar–bringing ease and joy at each stage. She would be the first to tell you that there’s just as much fun in the planning process as the actual wedding day.
Deep connection is the heart of Beyond Smitten Events which Mae started in 2017 hoping to find the perfect balance between her passion and quality moments with family. She found more than that, and this wife and mom of two boys hasn't looked back!
With a degree in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, Mae often refers to food as her first love. Of course, making sure people are well taken care of is second nature to her! Mae's calm, down-to-earth personality has helped couples feel at ease when the stress levels get high. She's the queen of quoting comedies and is not afraid to laugh at herself which couples find endearing!

How would you describe your wedding design, planning, and coordination style at Beyond Smitten Events?
Beyond Smitten Events is a Northern California wedding planning company serving couples all over the Greater Sacramento, Napa Valley, and San Francisco Bay areas. My approach to planning is authentic and approachable. From the first meeting, I want to ensure the connection cultivates trust between us. I would describe my wedding design style as timeless with intentional details sprinkled throughout. I love neutrals just as much as I love black and white and pops of color.
What type of couples do you love working with at Beyond Smitten Events?
I love working with easy-going and down-to-earth couples who understand the value that a wedding planner (and good vendors, in general) can bring to their big day. They value relationships which often leads to us becoming friends and catching up over coffee or a drink long after their wedding day. I also love working with couples who have a sense of humor.
Your business is GROWING this year! What fun and exciting things are you hoping to do/accomplish?
I am looking forward to training two lead planners and showing up on social media a lot more!!

What's your favorite part of working with your clients on the planning, design, and/or coordination of their wedding?
I love learning more about my clients as individuals AND as a couple. Also, I love incorporating personal details into their design and hearing them give feedback. I learn so much from each client!

Here's what Danielle Peet has to say about The Planner's Playbook…
The Planner's Playbook offers a plethora of information that is incredibly useful. I love the templates I receive and have used them confidently when communicating with clients. I also love the community and network of planners that I get to be around. Hearing and reading about their business and how they do things makes me feel like I'm not alone in this.
