About Erika Barreiro, Owner of Amore Paraiso
Erika Barreiro is the owner of Amore Paraiso, a destination wedding planning company based in Costa Rica. She was born and raised in Columbia, and lived in the United States before calling Tamarindo, Costa Rica home. Erika's background combines cultures, business, and passion which all led her to wedding planning.
Erika's formal education is in law and she started her career as a lawyer. While enjoyable, she knew she was neglecting her creative side. The turning point for Erika happened while working for a non-profit company planning and designing galas to raise funds. This taught her the process of planning important events. It also made Erika realize how much she loves celebrations and bringing happiness to others. She took the leap and launched Amore Paraiso.
Still the queen of contracts, Erika uses her law experience in her Costa Rica wedding planning business to review and negotiate vendor contracts for her clients. She also helps them navigate the legalities of getting married in Costa Rica. Erika is living a life she adores and nothing makes her happier than celebrating love.

How would you describe your wedding design, planning, and coordination style at Amore Paraiso?
As a wedding planning company in Costa Rica, my designs are a bit of boho with a tropical twist. My number one goal is to make my couple's thoughts and wishes more beautiful than they envisioned. My planning style is professional, on-time, organized, and reliable. I truly care about my couples enjoying the entire experience in Costa Rica.
What type of couples do you love working with at Amore Paraiso?
I love working with couples who are fun, adventurous, loving, and seek to share the full experience with family and friends.
Your business is GROWING this year! What fun and exciting things are you hoping to do/accomplish?
I want to keep bringing happiness to many couples! I'm excited to create more amazing designs. I also want to meet other people in the industry, and really establish myself as one of the top destination wedding planners in Costa Rica.

What's your favorite part of working with your clients on the planning, design, and/or coordination of their wedding?
Happy faces!! I love when my couples and their family members are blown away by the wedding experience. Their words of gratitude confirming that they truly had an amazing time traveling and at the wedding means so much.
