I love goal setting, do you? I've found that mapping out my goals is therapeutic and let's me put into writing what I want for myself both professionally and personally. On today's episode of The Power in Purpose podcast, I'm sharing with you my goal setting method using post-its.

I created this method for myself after years of failed goal-setting systems.  I'm shy when it comes to writing things down; I have a hard time visualizing my goals in a notebook, journal, or even worse, online note-taking. I get a little overwhelmed at the blank page, get frustrated when my goals are totally out of order, and end up ripping the page out only to start the tiring process over again.

Learn my method of using post-it notes for goal setting and start getting shit done.

Are you like me, in that, when it comes time to write your goals you struggle? You have goals in your head, you can almost see the big picture, but you get distracted, overwhelmed and end up not finishing what you started? I can't imagine I am alone in this!

I love this method because it lets me be free. I’m free to think about my goals without committing to writing them down on a page. I’m free to move them around if I find a mini-goal or action item better serves another one of my main goals. I’m not worried about my handwriting, because I can always re-write a post it. I’m not worried about things being out of order, because I can easily move them around. I’m not worried about whether my goals align with my bigger picture, because I started out writing my goals with my bigger picture in mind.

In this episode on how to set goals using post-it notes, I teach you:

  • How to use post-its as a goal-setting method, so you can visualize your big picture
  • How to connect your goals to your purpose, mission, vision, and core values — and why it's so important
  • How to drill down and get to the root of what you want to do, and set goals that matter
  • Why you should create and set goals that feel more like choices — and the profound impact seeing your goals as a choice has

I also put together a free, 15-page goal-setting e-book that condenses down notes from the two-part goal-setting series (episodes 9 and 10), and provides you with a visual of how your post-it pyramid will look.
