Candice (01:08.578)

Hey there, friend. Welcome back to the Power in Forbis podcast. It's me, your host, Candice. And our email marketing series continues today with another episode. We're focused on quizzes in today's episode. Last week, I talked to Josh from Interact and we broke down the psychology of quizzes and what makes a good quiz and why quizzes are such a powerful lead magnet.

for your business and such a great way to build your email list and get started with email marketing. Well, today I wanna share more about what quizzes I think are great for the wedding industry and how you can have some fun with a quiz on your website. We're diving into all things quiz examples. We're gonna give you some examples today of these ideas and show you how to put them into action in your business.

If you're also a fan of case studies and some real -world examples, you're also going to love this episode. I've brought on my fabulous co -host, Jackie from Interact, to talk through the three quiz types that I see doing really well in the wedding industry and also talk through exactly how you can implement them from what questions to ask to what to include on your quiz result pages. So it's a jam -packed episode.

filled with all things quiz creation. And I'm so grateful to have Jackie joining me today as my co -host. She knows all there is to know about quizzes. She's from Interact. And as you know, Interact is co -sponsoring our podcast episode today. Now, before we jump into this conversation with Jackie and sharing with you the three quizzes we think would be great for your business, I want to remind you about our email marketing challenge because it's coming

really soon. It's crazy how fast this email marketing challenge is coming up. We want to help you launch your list this year so that you don't have to rely so much on social media to market your business and to generate leads. I'm gonna be live with you helping you get your list launched. And we're also gonna be making a quiz. It's gonna be so easy, so much easier than you thought it would be. Even if it's in the middle of wedding season and you're super duper duper busy, I still want you to come and join us that week. So mark your calendars for our email marketing challenge and go to caniscopla .com slash challenge to sign

Okay, let's get into all things quizzes. I'm really excited. Let's bring in Jackie from Interact and get this conversation started. Hey, Jackie, welcome to the show. Thank you so much for having me, Candace. I'm so excited you're here to help us work through how to set up a quiz lead magnet for our business. As you know, we're in the thick of our email marketing challenge and our series here on the podcast. And last week I had Josh on the show and we had this wonderful conversation.

about the psychology behind quizzes and why quizzes are such an effective lead magnet. And I always love some of the statistics that you guys throw out about quizzes and how amazing they are. So today I'm really excited for you and I to share some ideas of how our listeners can get started with a quiz for their wedding industry business and give them some topic ideas. Yeah, totally. I think for me, that was the hardest part when I came up with my quiz was it's like, what am I

create a quiz on. There's so many different ideas and options, and some may be right for your type of business, some may not be right for your type of business. So I think having two experts come together and just be like, are three things, pick one, helps to take the analysis paralysis out of what to create for your quiz. Yeah, absolutely. And I just want everybody listening to know that you're not alone. And Candace, you are definitely not alone in that feeling of, my God, staring at a blank page, what am I going to make this quiz about? When I first started to

three years ago before we launched Interact AI, which very excited to share with everybody. We'll talk about that. I led our customers through a cohort of five weeks of coaching. And so in those, took five weeks just for you to put that quiz together. And we've simplified the process down using AI so that you can have a quiz built for you in just a couple of minutes. And I guess the other thing that I want to add to

Candice (05:54.438)

is when you're thinking about using your quiz, really remember that the quiz is for the people that you're creating it for. And so whatever it is that they want to know, I know we're going to dive into this, but whatever it is they want to know or learn more about, that's really the topic that you want to make your quiz on. Don't think about yourself. Think about your audience here and your ideal customers. And I think that's what makes a really effective quiz is positioning your ideal client.

and also knowing who your customer is and being able to speak to what their problems are and what they want from someone like you as a wedding pro for their wedding. So that's a really great point. Okay. Well, I would love for us to just dive right in to the three quiz types that you and I have come up with that we think are perfect for anyone listening with a wedding industry business, whether you're a photographer, planner, no matter what you

The first quiz type that I think is so great for the wedding industry is doing a quiz based on what package or service somebody who's seeking out what it is that you do, doing a quiz that helps them to discover what makes sense for the style wedding they're having or what they're looking for from a planner, an invitation designer or a photographer. Yeah, this quiz is pretty straightforward, right? You can have this be like which package is best for you. That could literally be the title of your quiz. This type of quiz would

perfect on a sales page or on your services page where instead of having your audience member or your website visitor reading through all of the packages that you offer, learning more about you through reading through all of the different pages on your site, just, hey, answer a couple of questions, tell me a little bit more about yourself and what you're looking for, and have the quiz actually do all of the recommending for them. I think it's such a great, powerful way to

support people in making a decision about what level of service they might need. And I think too, for folks who may not want to book a sales call with you or consultation or who might need a little more persuasion or support before they contact you and actually talk to you, which we know right now with wedding couples and with a lot of people in general is like there's like a resistance to get on a call to learn a price.

Candice (07:59.352)

people wanna kinda get to the meat of what it's gonna cost and what it includes in a simplified way. And a quiz is just a great way to do that. I also think the strategy behind this quiz is it's just a great way to also upsell your products or services. So if you can break down what it is that you do and the different services you offer in the quiz results based on what they've shared with you, you give them a result, it's a great way for them to understand why they might need more hours of your time or why they

want a higher level of service from you based on some of the things that they shared? Yeah, I'm thinking automatically like just diving into some of these quizzes, right? Asking questions like, where are you going to be sharing these pictures? Are you all about social media? And you want certain templates or graphics and images for the wedding couple to share on social versus, hey, I'm like a print classic in the book. Like, I need everything home and on video and all of this. Absolutely. If you knew that about somebody, you would know exactly which services or

options, upsells that you have that you could offer them that would make most sense to them without them feeling like you're offering them everything that, hey, that's really not important. This sounds expensive. Let me just find something else kind of thing. upselling can feel really hard for people. think we feel, well, selling in general is hard for us. And so when you let the quiz do the upselling for you, it's it's like a...

a salesperson selling for you. mean, obviously you're going to write the content and make the suggestion, but the quiz is what's telling people this level of service they need or the package that they should invest in your services based on the information that they've given the quiz. And so that takes the edge off a little bit. And in terms of upselling too, what I've noticed with a lot of wedding pros and just a lot of creative business owners is that we don't do it enough. And so people don't realize that there's additional ways that they can invest their

with you and there's other things that you might offer. instance, if you're a planner, you might offer wedding weekend planning services and if the couple doesn't know that and if you don't feel always comfortable pitching it, the quiz can get it out

Candice (10:01.356)

Absolutely. And then I think too of your competition, right? Like if your guests or your clients are looking at other sites that don't have a quiz or don't have this offering, don't they feel so much more heard, so much more understood, so much more seen by taking a quiz like this and getting a recommended package? And the other thing I want to say about this, you're talking about getting on strategy calls where the client is not ready. How much time do you as a wedding pro waste

strategy calls sometimes where you know right away they get on the call and, this is not a fit because this person's not going to have the budget or this person is looking for something that I can't necessarily support with. The quiz can really qualify who you're getting on a call with so that you're saving yourself time and being more efficient in your business. it's so true. And it's a great way to attract and repel people, you know, and it's a great way for you to also, as you mentioned, reserve your time for people who are really serious and who've almost been vetted

pre -sold to. And so when you do jump on these consultation calls with somebody who's taken your quiz and you've made this recommendation of what service level they've, they're already understanding what it is you offer, how much it might cost, what is included in it. And it kind of takes that objection out of the sales call. So that's really great point. I also think that if you're going to create a package and services style quiz, you may want to offer like a little extra incentive to someone who's taken this quiz.

Since it's not necessarily like a fun quiz, like what's your wedding personality, which we'll get into in a second. It's a little more straightforward. and they probably know they're going to be sold to like, it's going to reveal what level of service they should buy and maybe affirm what they were already thinking, which is also pretty powerful. If the quiz results line up to what they think they need that just like solidifies they're in the right place. But regardless, back to my original point, I think offering a little extra incentive, whether it's

an extra hour of coverage if you're a photographer, thank you cards if you're an invitation designer, extra planning hours if you're a planner. It's just a nice way to incentivize them to take it. Yeah, absolutely. And when you're actually building out a quiz in Intract, what will happen is they'll answer your quiz questions. They'll have the option to subscribe at that point so you can collect their information, know exactly how everybody is answering those questions or the package that they finally got onto, like their result. And then with

Candice (12:16.428)

send them into your email marketing system. what I was going to say to your point, Candice, is adding that language of, hey, subscribe so that you can get these thank you cards, subscribe so that you can get this wedding day, day of planner or checklist for this coupon code is a really great incentive to get somebody on your list where, hey, they're just still shopping around. They're not sure or sold on your services. They may not be ready to book a call yet, but you've really captured them with, your quiz

focusing on what it is that they need, but be already providing value by, I'm going to give you these things that you may not even have thought you needed, right? Like a planning guide or a checklist or something like that, an extra hour for engagement photos or something. It's a really great incentive and way to add value so that people are really wanting to get on your list and receive emails and communications from you. Yeah, that's a great point. I think this type of quiz would really make sense for any wedding pro, so whether you're... We've mentioned a few different categories in the industry, but I think this is

for anybody in the wedding industry who has a few different offers. So if you, let's say, have a few different tiers of coverage or a few different packages that you might offer, you can create, you can use this to help deliver the different products and services and pricing and services that you have. And I also think this is for anyone who wants to really guide your couples in making a decision and knows that your couples are probably less likely to book a sales call nowadays.

and they really want to get your pricing. And this is just like a different way of a fun way, an interactive way, not to be punny, but an interactive way to deliver your pricing rather than just sending a PDF for like a landing page. Yep, absolutely. So what I would love for us to do as we think about this quiz style is just maybe brainstorm a few questions that a listener can ask on this quiz.

In the next episode of our email marketing series, we're going to get a little more tactile in questions and how to set up your quiz funnel. But I thought it would be nice just to kind of throw around a few ideas for questions that we can ask in this quiz and those answers then helping to segment where this person might be on the grand scheme of the quiz results. So for this type of quiz, I think you should

Candice (14:23.122)

a mix of like logical questions and then some like fun inspirational questions. Yeah, you want to keep the quiz fun because if it's too, I don't mean to say boring, but if it's too hard to take or if it doesn't seem like it's going to guide someone to what it is, the information that they're looking for, they're not going to finish taking it, which you want them to finish so they get the result and subscribe ultimately, right? I guess the question that interacts that we get asked all the time is how many questions should you have in your quiz?

And to tie into this, think it really just depends on, pretend you're having that sales call with somebody, right? What would you actually ask them in person to qualify them for your specific packages? And those are the very questions that you want to make sure are in your quiz. Because first and foremost, the most successful quiz is going to make sure that the person is getting the right result. You want to make sure that they're landing on a result or a service package that actually makes sense to them and not one that they're like,

this doesn't feel like me, I'm definitely not going to go with this photographer. And so I know that's a very broad answer and maybe it depends on your specific services. But for me, whenever I'm working with customers, think about an actual conversation that you would have. And what is it that you need to know? Is it focused on the number of prints that they're looking for, certain poses that they're looking for, times of day that they might be wanting to shoot, locations that they're wanting to shoot in, right? I think and Candice, you're the pro here on

But what is it that your clients are going to want to know most? Make sure that you're answering that for them by asking them that in the quiz. Yeah. This is such a great tip, Jackie. It's something I didn't even think of when I was thinking through which questions should we ask. It's just really thinking about the questions that you ask on your console and how you pre -qualify people and how you guide and direct them in the consultation, those same questions you can ask in your quiz.

I think that where you might kind of make things a bit fun is adding a little bit of personality and maybe throwing in a few personality questions like what type of cocktail are you drinking on your wedding day? Or, you know, like who's your favorite Bravo Liberty? Like thinking about your own personality and maybe connection points you try to create with your customer on just personal stuff. Adding in a few questions in there can be a way to just take it from the...

Candice (16:39.074)

sort of formulate questions you ask in a consult and having a little fun with it. Yeah, there's also an option within interact quizzes where you can actually add images as your quiz answers. And so that would be another good idea of showcasing previous work that you've done or maybe celebrity couple wedding photo type things, right? So you can really see where I guess rather your quiz taker can really see what their wedding day or this wedding session might look like for them, as opposed to just thinking about it and answering it via text. Yeah.

Great. For our challenge, for our email marketing challenge, shameless plug, it's August 12th. Sorry. If you have not registered for our email marketing challenge, please make sure that you go and register. You'll also get to meet Jackie in person. She'll be joining us from Interact and helping to support you in creating your quiz. Go to CandaceCoppola .com slash challenge to sign up. But I am also going to give you some fun questions that you can ask in your quizzes.

for this quiz and the other examples we're gonna share that will help to bring in a little bit of personality and fun. we'll give you some other additional options that you can kind of throw in there. And in my quiz, I have gifts and I think gifts are so fun to use. Like it helps the eye to buy and people, they look at the answer, but when they see the picture, they create a connection with the picture or whatever you have in there that you're showing. So I love.

including images of your work, but also if you were to be like, what celebrity wedding style are you? You can include some of those pictures from celebrity weddings and stuff. So for this quiz, let's just briefly go through what types of results you would give. I think if you are going to create a quiz that helps to deliver which product or service somebody should purchase from you, you need to give more information about that service. And so on the results page and in the results emails that you will send, you want to make sure that you're listing out information about that service.

I would also include some inspiration from your current galleries that match that service. So if you are telling them that they need 12 hours of photography coverage because they're having a very elaborate wedding, make sure the images that you show help their eye to buy and are of the same caliber or budget style wedding that they might be having. Testimonials go a long way too. So basically in the results page, you're kind of building a mini sales page here, really introducing them to your offer.

Candice (18:51.254)

and giving them as much information that you can about the offer itself. You want to give pricing or starting at pricing and definitely a call to action of what they should do next. This is where I think a lot of people miss the mark with sales and marketing in general is we throw things out, but we don't tell people what to do now that they have this info. So I would definitely, definitely.

give them a call to action to book a consult with you or whatever that means. You can also have a small link to your other service levels in case you want to just give them the option of exploring some of those other offers, which I think might be a good idea. Anything else you would add to that results page, Yeah, that's a great idea of just showcasing the other options just in case. But you were talking about upselling earlier. So any a la carte pricing or those upsell opportunities could be

here to this page as well. And then market research really comes in handy here. So think back to previous calls that you've had. What are frequently asked questions and make sure you're answering those questions throughout this page, whether it's in like an FAQ section or if the answers are just literally spread throughout the different sections that you that you just went through. But yeah, I think that that totally aligns love the idea of testimonials.

Video testimonials are also great too, like a combination of both. Just because you talk about the eye to buy, some people like to hear it, see it, you know, it's more authentic versus, I can just read it and that makes sense to me. So yeah, I think that's a great, great example of what you want to include there. Just make sure, again, you're thinking about your ideal customers. What do they want to know? Answer those questions. Show them the answers to those questions through your other work that you've already, I guess, like other work that you've done with similar clients. So they can really see what's out there.

Yeah, great point. All right, so the first quiz idea is a package service quiz. How many hours do you need coverage for a photographer or what planning package works best for your wedding or what invitation package works best for what you need, something like that. Before we share the next quiz type, I want to shout out our partner for today's episode, Interact. I know that you're swirling with ideas for your quiz

Candice (21:02.936)

To be honest, I'm so excited for you to create a quiz. With Interact's new AI tool, you can create a fun on -brand quiz in minutes, which means your new quiz can be launched today. Let Interact AI make your quiz by answering just a few of its simple questions. Then Interact AI will give you everything you need.

to get your quiz up and running. So whether you use one of the three quiz types we share with you in today's episode, or you decide to go rogue and do something different, Interact AI is going to make it so easy to get your quiz launched. Make a quiz in minutes with Interact AI. Get started for free by going to tryinteract .com slash AI. That's Try

The next style quiz is going to be more of a style quiz and it's something like what's your photography style or what style wedding should you have? So we're speaking more towards the creative aspect or the visual aspect of what they might want. And I think this quiz has so much great strategy in it. There's a lot of opportunity to have fun with this quiz and we can get to similar results of sharing your packages in your services. So we're still going to

At the end, we're still gonna be able to speak to what it is that you do and how you can help them have this style of wedding. So the strategy with this quiz, it's a great way to show off your work and that you really understand what the couple is looking for because to Jackie's point, you wanna make sure your quiz is based on the person taking it.

Yeah, and I think just to add to that Candace, this differs from the other one in like the stage of awareness that the couple or the client is in, right? If they're going to want a quiz, that's what service should you buy? I think they're more ready to purchase, right? Like they know that they're going to be looking for this set of photos at their wedding or

Candice (23:07.128)

whatever that might look like. Whereas this quiz is, it seems like they're just kind of starting to shop around, they're obviously going to get photos of their wedding, but they don't know entirely what they're looking for. And so this type of quiz is great for like a main homepage or possibly sharing in socials where you know your client is really doing the research and planning still and they're not bought into what it is that they actually need, because they're not aware of that

So get them excited about what it is that they're going to need by showcasing what their style is. Give them insight into that, into who they are, into what their dream wedding is going to look like by answering just the set of these few questions. Yeah. It's such a great point. You're very right that this would be great for somebody at a different stage of awareness who's maybe just newly engaged and hasn't already hired all their vendors before they got engaged, which is kind of common these days.

really truly is kind of maybe even stuck between styles or not really sure what they want. This can help guide them into hiring you if you're the right fit and also giving them some ideas of what their wedding style could and should be. So this would make sense to me for anyone in the wedding industry who contributes to the overall style and design. And we can have a conversation if that's not you like

I mean, even a DJ, I feel like you could talk about like what style music should you play at your wedding or like what should be the vibe of your ceremony? So pretty much everybody has a creative role to play, but I feel like anyone in the wedding industry can take this quiz idea and make it for their business. Yeah, I agree. I agree. Again, just thinking about what is your audience looking for and focusing on that stage of awareness. I think in talking about these two styles so far, that's how I would choose which one you're going to go

We also know Gen Z is craving more personalization and customization. And I do feel like the quiz, this whole premise of doing a quiz lead magnet is a way to showcase that too. Like I think this is, mean, I think Gen Z loves taking quizzes and I think this is a great way for you to market your services in general. So helping them figure out their style and showing that you know

Candice (25:13.41)

and you understand what style is like really deep down in their head, you're helping to pull that out, that you know them with your questions and the results, it cannot just like warm you up. It doesn't just take them from cold to warm. I feel like it can make them like a burning hot customer. So many people take my quiz, which is very different from what we're talking about today, but I do do different things. But they take my quiz and they share the results all the time on social media because they feel like it really speaks to them and it takes them from somebody who

casually came across me somewhere on the internet into feeling like I really know them and they have this personal connection with me. Yeah, I think two points here. One, exactly like you're saying, it gets people excited to want to share. Like, my gosh, this is my wedding style, right? Especially if they're already talking about their wedding online, especially. And that will help to grow your quiz presence. That can help get your quiz to go viral by having someone who's already taken it reshare with their audience to reshare with their audience. So that's a great point. And the other thing I want to say is even if they get

really excited when they get on the quiz result page learning more about their style, but they're still not quite ready to take action yet, you can carry their style over into their emails, especially when you're using a platform like Flodesk, where design is so heavy in the emails that you're sending, align the design of the emails that they're getting to the style that you know they have from your quiz. Set that up for each of the different results that you have and the personalization.

carries beyond the quiz and into the emails every single time you show up in their inbox. Exactly right, Jackie. for this, think we also have to, in just thinking through the logistics of creating this quiz and the questions that we would ask for this quiz, I think we need to boil the styles down to the styles you enjoy working on clients with the most.

Because I mean, there are so many different styles out there for a wedding, right? And we can really get in the weeds and you don't want to create a quiz that's so big and that takes into consideration everybody on Earth's preferences. You really want to focus on your ideal client. And so I would say choose like maybe three or four styles that you enjoy designing as a creative or that you might be known for. And people literally come to you to help them, you know, design their wedding, that style, or maybe the photography style that you just cater to start there. And then we

Candice (27:31.042)

brainstorm some questions related to those styles and have them pick and choose questions related to those style weddings. Yeah, sometimes I'll get questions from our customers on how specific they need to get. And so I totally agree with you. Another question we're asked all the time, how many results do you want to have in your quiz? Three to four is a sweet spot because remember, the more results you have, the more work on your side to have to do to help set up, the longer the quiz might take to get the questions.

guiding you to the right spot. so three to four results is great. Keep them kind of broad. I mean, yes, they are specific to a certain style that you offer, but you're still going to have the opportunity to touch base with these people via email if your call to action is, book a strategy call. So don't think that this quiz is like the end all be all. You have to know everything here. You don't have to be entirely specific because we were talking about upselling earlier. If there's an opportunity to prevent

Sorry to present all of your packages or all of your services later You can do that but but keep them on par of what the person is looking for the style that they're that That those packages would fit so you're kind of working backwards with this quiz if that makes sense Yeah, it makes a ton of sense and thank you for sharing how many results we should have in our quiz So in terms of the number of questions remind me again, what's the sweet sweet spot with the number of questions? We should be asking in this quiz.

I would say five to 10 just to give you a concrete number. But the way I like to answer this question is the minimum number of questions that you need to get someone to the proper quiz result. So the longer, the more questions you're asking, the longer your quiz is, the more time it's going to take for your lead to answer and get through it, right? And so you want to keep the quiz light, fun, and quick so that they're not leaving too soon. They're getting to the final result, seeing the value that you can offer, and ultimately subscribing if that's the goal, of course.

But usually that sweet spot is five to 10 questions. Yeah, that's a great point is you want to use the least amount of questions to get the result that is going to talk to them and make sure that you give them the right result. Yeah. And the other thing I'll say to that additional questions you would want to add beyond that is, is there something that you need to know that may or may not tie into the final result? But is there something that you need to know in order to help this person better? That could be, oh my gosh, you're putting them on the spot. What am I? Let me think of an example here.

Candice (29:56.734)

When is this wedding, right? Like what is your timeline for the wedding is a great one because your wedding could be at any time of the year, but you could have any style, right? But maybe it's really important for you to know when this wedding is happening. So A, you know, if you're available or B, I don't know, maybe that presents other options that you would want to

yeah, mean a seasonal, you know, if you think about the four seasons, if you serve customers and you have four seasons in your location, a winter wedding is going to feel different than a summer wedding. just asking that simple question can give you a lot of information on the time of year it's happening, what kind of style would be right for that time of year. And I mean, you can glean a lot of data and information from the quiz, which is something that we've talked about with Josh too, but it bears repeating that some of these questions that you ask, they may not trigger the result, but they might just be really good

for you to understand where your leads are coming from, or maybe where they're at currently in the process of hiring someone like you, or what they think about something. There's a great opportunity to ask questions that just reveal more about your customers that can help even your quiz get more specific later on as you maybe make iterations of it or refine it. Yeah, totally.

Check it out and see what's possible. All right, so we have given you some thoughts and ideas for this style quiz and questions can be really dependent on the styles that you wanna serve in terms of style of wedding, whether you serve modern clients or you're really known for classic weddings, maybe do classic New England is your style and so variations of that. You would wanna build questions around the style and as Jackie has said, you

the least amount of questions that help you get to the results. While you are also in thinking of questions, you want to lead with visuals because I think people will respond more to a picture of something rather than you just saying modern. That can mean so much to so many different people. Showing images of your work or style will really help people identify with what you're trying to express.

And again, I do love pop culture references in quizzes. I think it connects people to the current. And so we've talked about this before, but like which celebrity wedding is most like your vision board that can reveal a lot. It's also just a fun question to answer. Yeah, I totally agree. And going back to images in the quiz, this is the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your work because the styles that I guess I should say this first, the styles that you're giving them as quiz results should absolutely reflect the styles that you

If you don't cater to or don't work with certain clients that fit a certain genre for a certain style, then don't offer that in your quiz because very likely those people are not your ideal customer. Don't pretend that you're able to offer everybody the world because you don't. You have specific clients that you're looking for and so cater the styles that you're choosing for your quiz results on who

I guess on the work that you currently do or that you're currently offering and or based on your on your ideal customer and what they know that they're looking for, what you know they're probably looking for. And that's where you can sort of play with the broadness of the results that you're giving. You don't have to be so entirely specific, but you can still speak to exactly like what does classic mean? What does modern mean? What does a boho wedding look like? And so I really like the point of showcasing your work sharing images.

Candice (34:14.926)

while also using words to explain what that style is so that everybody's on the same page. We're not thinking a timeless classic wedding is two entirely different things. We're very clear on what it looks like and that we're calling it the same thing. Yeah, 100%. And I feel like people understand that this is a quiz and the results pages can only go so far. Really, it's like, let's get on a consultation. Let's talk about this and talk about your style and get even more specific about what you want. But to move through into the results page, when we're thinking about delivering the results,

I want to make sure that you use lots of images of your work. And you also want to speak to the style that they have chosen or that you've chosen for them that illustrates all the answers that they gave you or the specific hot button answer that triggers the result. But you want to talk through that style. And I think you can use something like classic, and then you can go and use some things like old money style. Like there are certain current trends.

or current styles that might fit under the broad umbrella of classic. And you can put something like old money aesthetic or classic New England wedding, which are different from each other, but they're similar enough under the classic style where it makes sense. And somebody should be able to kind of pick out themselves in some of those suggestions that you make under that broader umbrella. But you definitely want to use tons of photos. I will also say that you want to be careful of jargon, not just

on this quiz results page, but all over your website and in your quiz, your couples may not understand certain industry jargon that we use on this podcast or that you use internally. And so for them, the word rustic, like they may use the word rustic to describe something that you would describe a little bit differently. So just keep that in mind when you're thinking through styles, you want to put yourself in the seat of the customer.

and not yourself who is very knowledgeable about all these things and knows that there's a niche for rustic old money nautical. Your couple won't know how to describe that. You don't have to get too in the weeds there, but I also want you to make sure that you link to relevant portfolio pages and blog posts that show that not only is Classic looking like this on this results page, but here are some Classic style weddings with variations that we've done.

Candice (36:35.658)

Information about your services. cannot stress this enough. You need to pitch yourself and make them aware of what it is that you do, how much it might cost, the services that you offer, and of course, how to take that next step with you. Always a call to action. Anything else you would add to this specific quiz results page,

there's an opportunity here, whether it be through affiliate links or just providing more value, letting your client really see their wedding, you could tie this style into other areas of their wedding. You're the photography pro, right? You're going to be there probably taking pictures. That's who's listening. we'll talk about the cake cutting ceremony, right? Like, what does that look like? We talked about the music earlier. Like, what is the music? Maybe you could even add like a little Spotify playlist as, if this is your wedding style, right? Like, here's an example of

and groovy on the dance floor, you know, music that matches that. So you're not just speaking to the service that you offer, but you're speaking to their whole big day as a whole. And they can really see you as the photographer at their event because you've tied in all of these other things to make sure it's a cohesive event. It's not just, okay, the photos are gonna be classic and timeless or rustic and nautical, whatever that looks like, but the whole event is gonna be pulled off in that way.

Yeah, that's such a great idea. Actually, I love the idea of a Spotify playlist. The strategist in me is thinking like, well, if you're a DJ, you would obviously want to throw that up on your results page. And then if you could do like an intro and outro, or if your DJ name is dropped, like they typically are in playlists, like that's just reminding them of you and creating a connection. Like you're in their head. It just makes a lot of sense. And you could drop a wedding playlist of like songs you think should be at their wedding. And couples love stuff like

They'll go and listen to it and be reminded of you, which helps keep you top of mind in a crazy world where I feel like, especially on social media, we're all clawing for attention. And you've heard me in this email marketing series speak about email marketing being so effective and a great addition to your marketing strategy so you don't have to rely so heavily on social. this is just another example of that. Okay, so our final.

Candice (38:45.966)

quiz idea or quiz style is a personality based quiz. And this, I see a quiz based on personality traits your ideal client might have. I want to say that personality quizzes are the most popular, but don't be jaded in that you have to use a personality quiz because they're the most popular option. Really think through what we talked about in the style quiz, in your service recommendation quiz.

What is the goal here? What is going to help move your client over the finish line? We have this saying of like a belief bridge, right? Like what do they need to know to be true in order to get to that ideal state or into that mindset of, okay, I'm ready to make a decision because I know what I'm looking for now. And I think personality style, similar to a style quiz, helps people really see the event come to life where they may not know, they may not be ready for a service quiz right yet, right? They wanna learn more

what it is that they want on their big day, what they're looking for, and a personality style quiz can absolutely show them that. Because it will sort of call out what's important to them, and it's important for you to highlight that back to them. yeah. It also just, again, shows how well you know your customer, and it creates a connection with them. I think a personality style quiz would make sense for pretty much anybody. And I also see this quiz as being dynamic in a sense of like, it

just focused on getting them to book a console, but it is focused on establishing a connection by showing off your own personality, by how you might understand them. It's great for data mining. It's great for asking questions. It can help you just get more refined in your consultative process, in your marketing, in your messaging on your website. So you may even use it to generate leads, of course, but it also might play a big role in how you get your, what we call voice of customer and

understand your customers so much better.

Candice (40:39.626)

Absolutely. Yeah, I think that's really important and something we've brought up in each of these quizzes. These quizzes are for your customers. They're for your ideal clients. Yes, they're for you. They're going to grow your email list. They're going to give you a ton of information, but not if the person on the other side isn't going to take the quiz. So really make sure that's aligning with what it is that they're looking for. Teach them more about themselves. And that's why popularity quizzes are so popular. I'm sorry, personality quizzes are so popular is because they really allow someone to learn more about

themselves and that is everybody's favorite subject themselves. They love to learn more about themselves, talk about themselves, see themselves in achieving a certain dream state or goal and a personality quiz will help you help them do that that much faster because you're taking the time to get to know them, understand what's important more so than what just their style is

what like inside right like what truly matters to them so that you can call that out in the quiz result pages, but even beyond in the email marketing sequences as well. Yeah, and while we move on to the topic of questions you could ask, I guess it'll really depend maybe on the theme of the quiz and like what you how you're going to weave personality and wedding together and maybe even your services. But I imagine that interact AI can really help you figure out some questions here. Once you give it some information about you want a personality quiz,

who it's for and what it should be about. can kind of help you start thinking through some questions to ask. Yeah. And I think we're going to dive deep into that in the next episode on like the technicalities of how that all works. But in short, Interact AI will entirely make up the questions for you based on the quiz results that you choose. I guess maybe a little spoiler alert into next week. When we, I talked about in the beginning,

used to lead people through five weeks of coaching to make their quiz before we had Interact AI. The process to do that was first, get clear on your quiz title. What is the topic of this quiz and what is it going to be about? The next thing you do is not actually the questions, it's the results. What are those styles? What are those services packages? What are the personality types that you wanna call out to your client? And then from there, you will know so much more clearer what questions do you need to ask to get someone to the right point.

Candice (42:52.438)

So good. And I'm really excited for next week's episode where you break this all down for us. Interact AI is going to do all the breaking down because it literally takes it for you. It's a lot of fun. That's so amazing. I love it. All right. So we know that Interact AI is going to help us really think through these questions. And the first step is the title of your quiz. The next is the results. And then Interact AI can break down all the in -between. I would say too, as we're on this topic of the three types of quizzes, Jackie and I have given you a lot to consider and think

You should go out there and take some quizzes and maybe start to see like what type of quiz it might fall under, like what category it might be. Maybe as the user, you can see how it's functioning, maybe what the angle is for the quiz, how it's helping to guide you. The best way to really see this is to go and take it as a now very aware user and go take some quizzes. You can certainly take mine, CandaceCoppola .com slash quiz.

and it's built with interact and is very strategic, of course, because I'm all about the strategy. But go take my quiz and then go and seek out some other quizzes on the internet and just kind of pick apart and take a look at how they

Yeah, and I would even encourage you, sometimes it's hard to look at your own website and decide, like within your own brand, decide what you like and what you don't like and what needs to happen because you look at your site all the time, probably. So look at some competitor sites. Just do a simple Google search of services or like things that you know your clients are looking for. And on those services pages, on the main landing pages, on sales pages, what's missing? What questions do you have? Those are great quiz titles possibly or questions that you'd want to add into your quiz. What information or

the way they're presenting the information, what do you like? Include that in the result pages. Maybe even get on a few email lists. What emails are you getting from these people? What sort of happens after? That might help prompt you to, okay, let me put this upfront in the quiz because this really would have captured my attention had I been shopping for these services. Yeah. Now that you're aware of what a quiz is, kind of how it works and the types of quizzes that you should consider as a wedding pro.

Candice (44:56.748)

you can go and take quizzes with, like we don't mean to like ruin the mystique of a quiz for you, but you can take it as somebody who understands some of the mechanics of how it works. And then you can be inspired by what you see other people doing because we're all doing somewhat of the same thing. We're trying to guide people into the right direction. so, know, sales is helping your customer buy the solution to their problem. And a quiz does that so effectively. So go take some quizzes, take mine.

Go find a few others. You can even go to take quizzes from maybe some big box websites that your customer would be taking and take the quiz yourself as if you were a bride or a groom or a person getting married and see what questions they ask, what results they deliver, how long was it. Just start picking it apart and investigating a little bit. It'll help inspire you for your quiz. Yeah, I just came off of a conference last week and one of the presenters was John Uche and his whole presentation was on

copying and pasting, but doing that research and then copying with taste. So you're taking what you like, what you don't like, and embellishing it with your own brand and style and finesse for your ideal customers. So I totally agree. especially if you're not like sold on a quiz idea yet or your mind spinning on the opportunities or options for you, I think

the best advice Candace is take Candace's quiz, do a little bit of research, take some other quizzes to really hone in on, okay, I can see how this is going to work for my business now, and then let's get creating. You don't want to create too fast because then you may find yourself in that wheel of, well, let me fix it this way. Let me change it that way. Now I'm going to put this angle. Let me go back to the style quiz. So really think through the goal there and then implement, which we'll do in the next episode using interactive AI. Yes, I'm so excited. And then with our challenge, of course, you're to be making big decisions

just running with the decisions you make, no analysis paralysis. And I, along with some of my friends, are gonna help you get all of this up and running. So Jackie, thank you so much for joining me today to talk through the three different types of quizzes that work well for wedding pros. Just to recap, here are the three types of quizzes that Jackie and I think would be great for you. Pick just one, whatever feels the best for you or whatever works for your brand. Packages or services quiz, a style quiz, or a personality quiz.

Candice (47:13.044)

and please go and take some quizzes to see how they work and interact with them. And in case I have not made myself abundantly clear, I love quiz lead magnets. Jason and I have been hosting Friendsgiving for 11 years - and each year is filled with so many great memories!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I grew up celebrating with big family gatherings and dinners. It was so special to me, and when I moved to Barbados, I wanted to share that special holiday with all my friends here.

Over the years we’ve hosted small groups and big groups, made new friends and reconnected with old, cooked turkeys, shared bottles of wine, and started the holiday season together.

This year was extra special, since it was the first time we hosted this holiday in our new home. Funny enough when we looked at this house the first time, Jason and I pictured this very night on the veranda - and loved this house because of the special gatherings we knew we could host here!

So happy Friendsgiving! I love these people so much. See this as your sign to do something special with your friends during the holidays. Make the time. Make the effort. It’s always worth it!
