Stephanie Laur of Union Event Co
Stephanie Laur of Union Event Co is an Oregon Wedding Planner who fell into event planning while supporting non-profits she believed in. If you told this public health major at the time that she would become a wedding planner, she would have never believed you. However, over time, her volunteering evolved into the wedding planning business of her dreams.
Stephanie quickly realized that being able to support these non-profit organizations and their incredible missions meant she needed to be able to plan a great party. Throwing memorable events, whether a downtown art auction or high-end gala, was a pivotal part of raising funds to keep these non-profits afloat.
As fate would have it, Stephanie planned her best friend’s wedding and fell immediately and deeply in love with the art form of wedding planning (how could she not?). She then moved to Hood River, Oregon and planned her own wedding and many others. Stephanie became the exclusive planner for a magical venue in the Gorge and, through that experience, really honed the process of bringing a multifaceted affair to life seamlessly.
Through her innate ability to remain calm amidst chaos (thanks to her mom), this natural caregiver is able to help her couples relax and revel with their closest family and friends. Stephanie loves creating an environment for her couples that’s emblematic of their story, and allows them to celebrate their union with intention. She'll never quite get over how lucky she is to get to do that over and over again.

How would you describe your wedding design, planning, and coordination style at Union Event Co?
At Union Event Co, we want our couples to remain present throughout their engagement and on their wedding day. As an Oregon Wedding Planner, I believe it's the greatest gift we can offer our couples. We rely on a highly organized process and embrace honed systems. In addition, we plan in a way that supports, rather than overshadows, their lifestyle. We want wedding planning to fit seamlessly into our couples’ lives, so they can remain focused on the things that matter most.
What type of couples do you love working with at Union Event Co?
Planning unforgettable weddings in the Pacific Northwest is kind of our thing. Our couples are good people who are passionate about life. They aren’t afraid to color outside of the lines, and they always want to have a great time. Our work catches their eye because they can see themselves in it. The Union Event Co brand draws them in because we are experts with a point of view.
Your business is GROWING this year! What fun and exciting things are you hoping to do/accomplish?
We are launching a rental company! A pretty party is given…but we always dig deeper to ensure your event tells your story in a way that’s meaningful and memorable.

With over 150 weddings in the Gorge and surrounding PNW to our name, we’ve learned a thing (or 1,000) about planning events in this stunning setting we get to call home. Nothing brings us joy like sharing our deep-rooted connections, knowledge, and unearthed hidden gems with you and yours.
