About Syrie Roman, Owner of Social Maven

Syrie Roman is the owner of Social Maven – a wedding and event planning business located in Western New York. From flowers to favors, Syrie brings an extra dose of flair, fun, and sophistication to each event. This comes from her background in various industries and experience in designing and thoughtfully executing the perfect day for clients.

Social Maven started with a dream, a lot of hustle, and Syrie's deep love for creating memories for people. Before Social Maven, she managed restaurants for various venues and spent 12 years in Event Management. This gives Syrie an advantage when dealing with communicating and meeting vendor expectations. With a good sense of humor, every detail is discussed, and every minute of the day is accounted for.

This Western New York wedding and event planner knows that beautiful, thoughtful events are not an accident. With commitment, focus, intelligent planning, and a little magic, Syrie gets the job done.

Every week, we're spotlighting our amazing members of The Planner's Playbook!

How would you describe your wedding design, planning, and coordination style at Social Maven?

Our design style is elegant, modern, whimsical, and focused on the couple's taste. Our team has a strong background in event production, catering, and hospitality, so we approach weddings a little differently. Logistics come first; then, once we have a sound plan, we make everything beautiful.

What type of couples do you love working with at Social Maven?

We enjoy working with couples who love collaboration, the exchange of ideas, and personalized touches. We also love their interest in planning a curated experience for themselves and their guests.

Your business is GROWING this year! What fun and exciting things are you hoping to do/accomplish?

As a wedding and event planning company in Western New York, we are expanding into areas of the state we have not worked in before. We also added a Champagne Cart to our rental offerings and are growing our team.

What's your favorite part of working with your clients on the planning, design, and/or coordination of their wedding?

A favorite part of working with our clients is the collaboration and sharing of ideas. I ensure that they realize that those memories of planning their wedding together are to be cherished as much as the wedding day itself.

Here's what Syrie Roman has to say about The Planner's Playbook…

The Planner's Playbook offers so many great materials to help improve your business processes. It's also eye-opening to see how someone else approaches certain tasks, even if you've been doing it for a long time. I love learning new ways of performing a task, especially if it's more efficient and will save time while enhancing my client experience.
